Disambiguation
*AR Cloud-ready refers to features described in the Benefits section of our AR Cloud Overview page.
AR Cloud provides ML2 users with the ability to simultaneously scan and upload fragments of a large, shared spatial maps. ML2 users without a connection to an AR Cloud instance also have the ability to create smaller spatial maps that are stored locally on their devices. The same Spaces application, included in the ML OS, is used to scan and create both local spatial maps, as well as map fragments for upload to AR Cloud. Likewise, applications can use the same APIs to create spatial anchors, manage, and localize into spatial maps that are stored locally or are accessed via connection to AR Cloud. Note that an Enterprise or Developer Pro software license is required for each ML2 device to connect to an AR Cloud instance.
