Deprecation Notice

AR Cloud was deprecated on Jan 22, 2025. The following instructions for configuring AR Cloud are for users who purchased an Enterprise license with AR Cloud prior to Jan 22 2025.

AR Cloud public releases are made available on GitHub. When updating AR Cloud, spatial data and Keycloak authentication data will remain intact. You can upgrade your installed version by folllowing the steps below.

Upgrade Custom Deployment or Cloud Provider Deployment

  1. Download a newer release from Github.
  2. Set the same environment variables for AR Cloud used during the initial installation. Include GCP, AWS or Azure variables if applicable.
  3. Run the setup script again to upgrade the services automatically.

Upgrade Virtual Machine Image (OVA, UTM)

When updating your AR Cloud VM image, we recommend you remove your old installation before installing the updated image. Please note that the spatial data from the previous installation is not retained.

Download the updated VM image from the download page of the Magic Leap Developer Portal. Make sure you are logged in the developer portal to view and download the images. For more information about downloading and installing AR Cloud VM images, see AR Cloud Virtual Machine Image Deployment (OVA, UTM).
