Device

The Device dashboard opens by default when you open Magic Leap Hub (ML Hub) 3. If your headset is connected, you can see details at a glance about your device.

The top left section of the dashboard shows an image of your device and what kind it is (typically Magic Leap 2) as well as its serial number and power level. You can click the icon button with an image of an arrow moving in a clockwise circle to restart the device from the hub. You can also click the icon button with an image of a square if you want to shut down your device from the hub.

Controller

The middle right section of the dashboard shows an image of your controller. You can view its power level and serial number. You can also shut down the controller here by clicking the icon button with an image of a square.

Device

The far right section of the dashboard contains details about your device. You can click About your device to open a view that provides details such as what software you're running, the hardware, your connection, and helpful documentation if you have more questions. When you're done using the view, click Done.

You can also create a bug report by clicking Create a bug report. It automatically starts generating when you click here.

LED Guides

Directly under Device, you can see the LED Guides area. Clicking any of the links will take you to resources on the Customer Care portal. Choices include:

  • Compute Pack
  • Headset
  • Controller

Help

If you need further help, you can click Magic Leap Help to go to the Customer Care portal and contact support.

Connection

The lower left section of the dashboard shows you connection details. You can see if you're connected and whether it's USB or Wi-Fi. If you use Wi-Fi, you can view the IP address you're connecting with and see the network you're part of.

Storage

The lower middle section of the dashboard shows you how much storage you've used. You can see your device's total storage, what's available, and what's taking up the storage. Categories include:

  • Apps
  • Media
  • OS
  • Free Space

Magic Leap OS

The lower right section of the dashboard shows you whether an update is available for your headset. If one is available, you'll be able to click the Update Available button to download and install the latest version of the OS.

Packages

The far lower right section of the dashboard shows details about any package updates that are available. If you install anything that has an update, you'll be able to see it here and run an update.

If you click the Device icon in the left menu, it pulls up a sub menu with more details.

Power Info

In the first section of the view, you can see how much power your Magic Leap 2 device (Magic Leap 2) and Controller (Control) have.

Connection Info

In the second section of the view, you can see the connection status of your device.

  • The green dot indicates which connection is active: USB or Wi-Fi.
  • If one option is not available, it is disabled and appears grayed out.
  • Available options appear with white text.

About Device

The About Device screen shows you details about your device, such as what OS version, API level, and Open GL ES version you're using. Information is also provided about your hardware, including the serial number.

Actions on Device

The Actions on Device section lets you run various commands without needing to have the headset on. Choices include:

  • Reset Headpose
  • Wake Up
  • Disconnect
  • Restart
  • Shutdown

Switch to Another Device

If you want to use a different device with ML Hub 3, click Switch to Another Device. Connection options such as Wi-Fi or USB are provided. Click to connect.
