Applications

The App view lets you manage apps specific to your Magic Leap device. You can install, uninstall, and launch applications from here.

This section walks through key tasks you can complete in the Apps view.

Search and Filter

Using the search box at the top of the Apps view, you can look for a specific application. You can also click the icon depicting a downwards pointing triangle composed of lines to filter for applications that are running, third party, or both.

Configure Table Columns

You can choose what information is displayed in the applications table. Click the three column icon button to the right of the table's column headers to open a drop-down with choices for what columns you can display for applications. Check boxes to add columns or uncheck them to remove columns. Choices include:

  • Name
  • Package
  • Version
  • Last Used
  • Installed On
  • Installed By
  • Size
  • Type
  • Debug

Installing, Launching, and Uninstalling Applications

To install an application, do the following:

  1. In Magic Leap Hub (ML Hub) 3, navigate to the Apps view.

  2. At the top of the screen, click Install to add an application from your desktop to your device. A menu opens allowing you to browse and choose a file.

  1. When you find the application you want to add, click Open.

  2. If you want your application to automatically launch after installation, you can click the white, downward facing arrow in the blue box to the right of the Install button. This will open a menu that lets you choose Install and Launch.

  3. If you want to uninstall an application, click the arrow and choose Uninstall. You're able to uninstall multiple applications together by clicking the checkbox next to each one, and then clicking Uninstall Selected.

Some applications can't be uninstalled. If they're an android application that's required, the option to uninstall will be disabled and appear grayed out. Only items appearing in bright white font have active checkboxes you can select.
